Vista Solution from VitalConnect being used at New York facility to monitor vitals and customize solutions to patient needs
VitalConnect®, Inc., a leader in remote and in-hospital wearable biosensor technology, today announced that its Vista Solution is being used by Northwell Health, the largest private employer and health care provider in New York, with 23 hospitals and more than 830 outpatient facilities. VitalConnect has been working with Northwell Health since March of 2020 to monitor COVID-19 patients, integrate with third-party devices and increase patient-monitoring capacity across hospital units at Plainview Hospital.
Along with the COVID-19 use case, Northwell is also looking to explore VitalConnect’s wearable, hospital-grade technology for additional deployments such as hospital at home, transitional care and inpatient expansion.
“The Vista Solution real-time monitoring transformed how our clinicians at Plainview Hospital monitor our patients’ vital signs and manage our patient flow.” said Tom Luzzi, Director of Patient Care. “The portability of the cloud based VistaCenter enables our clinicians to assess real-time vital signs from anywhere at any time.” In addition, Northwell’s Telehealth team provided central monitoring as proof of concept to support real time monitoring on medical units.
“The use of our technology by a leading healthcare system like Northwell Health demonstrates the value of our VitalPatch and the entire Vista Solution” said Peter Van Haur, CEO of VitalConnect. “Vista Solution uses our latest generation VitalPatch biosensor and software to monitor patients’ critical vital signs in real-time, providing physicians, nurses and their patients a higher level of confidence during patient hospital stays and their recovery process.”
VitalConnect’s VistaSolution consists of three components: 1) VitalPatch: a wireless, disposable, and wearable biosensor which can be used to monitor ECG, vital signs, and 19 cardiac arrhythmias; 2) VistaTablet/phone: mobile device to relay information from patch to cloud, and 3) Vista Center: a central monitoring interface accessible via internet.
Founded in 2011, VitalConnect has deployed more than 110,000 VitalPatches across the world. The VitalPatch allows real-time remote or in-hospital monitoring, cardiac monitoring and a solution for monitoring patients with COVID-19 allowing physicians to monitor patients without necessarily taking up bed space needed for patients with more immediate needs and limiting exposure for patients and staff.
