Quest Health, Rimidi Report Early Success in Remote Diabetes Monitoring Pilot

Early results show improved blood glucose control among patients using connected devices
Quest Health Solutions and digital health company Rimidi have reported positive early results from their Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) collaboration focused on improving outcomes for patients with diabetes.
In the first two months of the program, patients using Quest Health’s RPM Services — powered by Rimidi’s platform — saw an average 11% reduction in blood glucose readings. The initiative, which integrates Rimidi’s software into Quest’s athenahealth EHR system, aims to enhance diabetes care through virtual monitoring and connected devices.
Key Clinical Results
In a preliminary group of patients using cellular-enabled Blood Glucose Monitors:
- Overall average blood glucose dropped from 176 mg/dL to 157.5 mg/dL (11% reduction)
- Morning glucose readings (5 a.m. – 9 a.m.)** dropped from 176 mg/dL to 147.9 mg/dL (16% reduction)
- These changes translated to an estimated A1C improvement of approximately:
- 1% for morning readings
- 0.7% for daily average readings
Provider and Patient Benefits
Quest Health offers a range of services supporting chronic condition management, including CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitor) fulfillment, insurance verification, and remote patient engagement. The RPM platform gives providers real-time access to patient data, customizable alerts, and documentation tools to streamline workflows and support billing.
“Rimidi makes RPM effortless. Our team and partners love the quick access to charting, billing, and patient info — all in one user-friendly platform,” said Jim Klauder, RD, CDCES, LDN, Head of Patient Care at Quest Health RPM Services.
The integration with Quest’s EHR allows clinical teams to stratify patients by risk and intervene quickly when needed, using both traditional blood glucose monitors and CGMs.
“Remote monitoring — paired with the right clinical insights, in the right place, at the right time — empowers providers to better support patients in managing their diabetes, and these early results clearly reflect that” said Lucienne Ide, MD, PhD, CEO of Rimidi.
Expansion Plans
Quest Health intends to broaden its RPM offerings to include additional connected devices such as blood pressure monitors and pulse oximeters. The company also plans to offer RPM support services to healthcare providers nationwide, extending beyond its core diabetes care and supply fulfillment business.
