Sensoria Introduces Smarter Upper Body Garments and Announces Updates to Sensoria Fitness App

New line of smart t-shirts and sports bras launching as crowdfunding campaign with new app that monitors heart rate, heart rate variability and offers innovative alert system

Sensoria Inc., a world leader in wearable fitness and smart garment technology, is introducing its new smart line of colorful sports bras and t-shirts and training plans offered through a new version of the Sensoria Fitness v2.0 app. The new app, which will feature a cardiologist-created and tested algorithm called Heart SentinelTM, connects to heart rate monitoring (HRM) garments and may detect certain cardiac irregularities that often precede catastrophic events. The new garments are designed to meet the needs of all levels of fitness enthusiasts by including a new medium support sports bra for women and a new short sleeve t-shirt for men.

Distance runners and cyclists wearing Sensoria smart apparel often train alone for long periods of time in remote areas. “Sensoria’s new cardiologist designed, patent-pending algorithm will constantly monitor the user’s probability of cardiac irregularities during exercise, offering a real-time alert countdown to confirm that he or she is still conscious, or it alerts selected family or friends through text message, urging them to seek help. Heart SentinelTM may also contribute to locate the person through GPS coordinates. Backers of the crowdfunding campaign will be the first to benefit from the new algorithm and will contribute to refine the Sensoria Fitness app,” said Nicola Gaibazzi, MD and Cardiologist at University of Parma Hospital in Italy.

Sensoria’s colorful and stylish heart rate monitoring garments are designed to prevent the cumbersome slipping and chaffing that can occur with traditional HRM chest straps. Each Sensoria garment is made with Emana yarn, the technically advanced and durable fabric that uses far infrared technology. Along with keeping the wearer dry, comfortable and protected from the sun’s harmful UV rays, Emana yarn improves skin elasticity to reduce the appearance of cellulite and aid with muscle fatigue prevention. Each new garment can be used with Sensoria’s Bluetooth HRM module and the Sensoria Fitness app for iOS and Android, as well as other HRM devices such as Polar H7 or Garmin Premium and other fitness apps such as Strava, Endomondo, PolarBeat or MapMyRun.

“Everyday athletes can finally get advanced cardio training through comfortable heart rate zone, heart rate variability and cardiac irregularity alert tracking. We designed this new smart garment line with distance runners, cyclists, and fitness enthusiasts in mind,” said Davide Vigano, CEO and co-founder of Sensoria. “We allow you to ditch the chest strap because our Sensoria Fitness Sports Bra or T-Shirt replaces it with comfortable and washable electrodes embedded in the fabric. We are proud to partner with lead cardiologists Nicola Gaibazzi and Claudio Reverberi to take smart garment technology to the next level.”

The new line of smart garments will be available for preorder at an early bird price on Sensoria’s crowdfunding campaign starting in June. The goal of the campaign is to fund the manufacturing and production of a red and blue medium support sports bra and short-sleeve t-shirt. The company plans to use all additional funds raised to unlock new color options, such as lime green.

“Sensoria has always been at the forefront in developing new smart garment, sensor-infused technology. We saw a desire for fitness enthusiasts to not only have access to the latest tech, but also be fashion forward,” said Maurizio Macagno, CTO and co-founder of Sensoria. “Our garments paired with the new Sensoria Fitness app, seamlessly combine these needs and offer high-quality, comfortable heart rate monitoring available in exciting new colors and sleek styles.”

Crowdfunding campaign supporters may receive additional rewards such as the Smart Running System and access to the Sensoria Fitness v2.0 app with up to three months of complimentary training plans and more, depending upon contribution level.
