Advanced technology in MEDITECH’s Web EHR drives a Montana hospital to continue decades-long partnership
Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital (FMDH) in Glasgow, Mont., implemented their current MEDITECH Electronic Health Record (EHR) over 20 years ago. While the legacy platform has supported the 25-bed critical access hospital’s patient safety and quality goals, the organization is looking forward to upgrading to MEDITECH’s contemporary Web EHR in 2017.
“There are many reasons why we decided to move forward with MEDITECH, including our ability to remain autonomous. Other vendors require us to purchase the EHR from a larger system, while MEDITECH allows us to remain independent,” Dave Nixdorf, director of support services at FMDH said. “In addition, our trusted relationship with MEDITECH and the advanced functionality within the Web EHR were key drivers in our decision.”
When evaluating EHRs, FMDH looked for a platform that would not only meet government regulations but also offer care providers a modern and efficient solution to improve patient care delivery at a sustainable cost. Key decision makers at FMDH found MEDITECH’s Web EHR met all their needs.
“Personally, I believe our current MEDITECH EHR has been a great investment given the longevity and reliability of the platform, as well as ability to meet the demands of our ever-changing industry,” Director of Finance at FMDH Cami Kalinski said. “I’m confident the total cost of ownership is less than other systems. We’re looking forward to MEDITECH’s proven reliability and modern technical advancements as we transition to their Web product.”
FMDH will be implementing an array of applications including Web Ambulatory, Blood Bank, Business and Clinical Analytics, Critical Care, Human Resource Planning (HR/SS/IAS), Quality and Surveillance, Surgical Services and more. In addition, they will be migrating all current applications to the Web EHR.
“We’re proud to continue our longtime partnership with FMDH, and provide them an EHR that improves care efficiencies, boosts physician productivity, and meets their clinical and financial goals,” Christine Parent, associate vice president of marketing at MEDITECH said. “MEDITECH’s Web EHR is truly transforming the provider and patient experience by providing universal access to the patient story across the continuum of care.”
