Diameter Health Names Former Anthem BCBS Executive Jill Hummel to Board as an Independent Director

Hummel Brings 20 Years of Experience in Health Plan Innovation to Deep Bench of Independent, Investor and Company Leadership and Will Help Guide Diameter Health’s Continued Payer Market Expansion

Diameter Health, a fast-growing leader in health data interoperability and optimization, announced that payer industry veteran Jill Hummel has joined the company’s board as an independent director. Hummel’s depth of experience as the former Anthem BCBS Connecticut president and general manager will help her provide unique insight to the company as it continues to expand its customer base in the health insurance market. Diameter Health’s technology accelerates payers’ ability to leverage multi-source clinical data streams across their enterprise to understand member health needs, propel innovation, and drive operational efficiency across quality, risk and care management.

Clinical data holds great promise and potential to support payer organizations in their pursuit of better member health, reduced cost of care, and more efficient workflows. However, many payers struggle to make efficient use of this data given its increasing volume and lack of standardization. Synthesizing raw clinical data from multiple sources – including electronic health records (EHRs), health information exchanges (HIEs), health systems and labs – into a member-centric view that is scalable across an organization is exceptionally challenging because of issues of data redundancy, variation and disorganization.

“The payer industry is on the precipice of significant change with increasing adoption of new business models such as risk sharing with providers, and innovation powered by data and insights that enable more timely, prescriptive and proactive whole person care. These shifts require that health plans access and share high quality, timely clinical data to make better decisions regarding member care, as well as to track the impact of those decisions. But clinical data is complicated, and even the most sophisticated organizations need experts like Diameter Health,” explains Jill Hummel, Independent Director, Diameter Health. “I am excited to join the board as Diameter Health is partnering with some of the largest and most innovative payers in the country to accelerate their digital practices by transforming raw clinical patient information into actionable and interoperable data that will ultimately improve the health of individuals.”

Diameter Health plays a critical role as a technology partner to support a payer’s journey towards integrating clinical data into an overall data architecture so its value can be leveraged across an organization. Powered by automated, scalable, auditable technology and a team of clinical informatics experts, Diameter Health transforms complex, inconsistent, and fragmented clinical data into an enriched and interoperable data asset. This actionable data powers better decisions and more efficient processes, ultimately enabling better patient care outcomes at lower costs.

“Jill Hummel has dedicated her career to improving how healthcare is delivered,” said Eric Rosow, CEO, Diameter Health. “She realized early on that value-based care and other innovative payment and care delivery reforms are dependent on having a strong foundation of data to drive success. Jill has a deep appreciation for Diameter Health’s mission to power the health ecosystem by making data universally accessible and actionable. Her passion to make healthcare better, coupled with her experience and leadership leveraging data to transform payer practices, make her a great addition to our team and we could not be more thrilled to have her join our Board of Directors.”
