CHIME Digital Health Most Wired Ranked Highest in GDHP Global Maturity Assessment

Global Digital Health Partnership identifies DHMW as top-performing digital health maturity model

The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) announced that its Digital Health Most Wired (DHMW) 2025 assessment has been ranked as the leading global digital health maturity model by the Global Digital Health Partnership (GDHP).

The ranking is based on the GDHP Framework for Selecting Digital Health Maturity Assessments, published in Fall 2025. Independent research conducted by the GDHP found that the DHMW model outperformed other digital health maturity assessments evaluated worldwide.

The GDHP framework was developed through a review of 44 existing digital health maturity tools used internationally. Evaluation criteria were informed by surveys of GDHP member countries and research into current and future priorities for digital health measurement. The framework is intended to support governments and health systems in selecting tools for digital health evaluation, planning, and investment.

Dr. Tamara Sunbul and Peter O’Halloran, Chairs of the GDHP Evidence and Evaluation Workstream, stated that digital health maturity measurement plays a role in health system planning, investment decisions, and policy alignment as expectations around value, efficiency, and patient engagement increase.

The framework assesses digital maturity models across five domains:

  • Leadership, strategy, policy, and guidance
  • Infrastructure, operations, and financial management
  • Data and analytics for health
  • User attitudes, capability, adoption, and feedback
  • Quality improvement and outcome tracking

According to the GDHP evaluation, DHMW scored highly across multiple domains, including leadership and governance, infrastructure and financial management, and user capability and adoption. Performance in data and analytics, as well as quality improvement and outcomes tracking, also contributed to its overall ranking.

Russ Branzell, President and CEO of CHIME, said the recognition reflects the role of DHMW in helping healthcare organizations measure digital readiness, benchmark progress, and inform technology investment decisions across different care settings.

The 2025 DHMW methodology includes expanded assessment areas related to artificial intelligence use, virtual care, digital pathology, cybersecurity, climate sustainability, resilience planning, and emerging care delivery models. The updated scoring approach is designed to account for differences in organizational size, complexity, risk profiles, and available resources.
