AdvancedMD Integrates AI and Expands Clearinghouse Options in 2025 Summer Product Release

AdvancedMD has announced the rollout of its 2025 Summer Product Release, introducing a range of
updates across its practice management, electronic health record (EHR), and patient engagement
platforms. The updates include new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered features and a strategic
partnership with Waystar, now the preferred clearinghouse for AdvancedMD users.
AI-Driven Features to Streamline Practice Workflows
The latest product release integrates AI tools designed to reduce administrative burden and support
clinical efficiency. One of the key enhancements is the introduction of AI-generated SOAP notes,
which automatically summarize data from patient encounters and format them into structured
clinical notes.
“Our product team is focused on building smart, AI-enabled automations that drive productivity

AdvancedMD. “A great example is our AI-generated SOAP notes. Our technology can now summarize
data from patient notes to produce a formatted SOAP note that is saved with the patient record.”
Additional updates in the EHR include:

  • In-app Editor for Patient Note Narratives to streamline documentation.
  • Enhanced Medication Request Workflow that consolidates prescription requests within the
    EHR.
  • New Physician Care Notifications offering insights on medications, clinical outcomes, and
    relevant alerts.
  • Discharge Status Field added to appointment records, with automation to include discharge
    information in clinical messages.

Practice Management Enhancements
The platform now includes a Patient Merge tool that allows practices to consolidate duplicate
patient records, preserving all historical data, including appointments and billing.
AdvancedMD also introduced a more efficient Provider Onboarding Workflow, allowing multiple
providers and services to be added in a single purchase request.
Redesigned Patient Portal and Engagement Tools
Updates to patient engagement focus on usability and workflow automation:

  • Redesigned Patient Portal with simplified navigation to help patients more easily access
    information and complete tasks.
  • Appointment Cancellation Automation, allowing practices to define cancellation thresholds
    that trigger charges or EHR notes, depending on their policy.
  • Reputation Management Updates, including new merge fields that tailor feedback requests
    to specific providers.

Clearinghouse Partnership with Waystar

AdvancedMD has expanded its clearinghouse options by partnering with Waystar Clearinghouse.
This move responds to recent changes in the industry and provides users with an alternative to
Change Healthcare. According to feedback from early adopters, the transition to Waystar has yielded
positive outcomes.
The new partnership positions AdvancedMD as a multi-clearinghouse platform, giving healthcare
providers added flexibility and stability in claims processing and revenue cycle management.
Industry Trends: Physician Adoption of AI
The release aligns with broader industry trends around the adoption of AI in healthcare. A recent
American Medical Association (AMA) survey found that 66% of physicians report using AI tools in
their practice—an increase from 38% the previous year. Additionally, 68% see at least some
advantage in adopting AI-driven solutions.
Rollout Timeline and Access
The 2025 Summer Product Release is being deployed in phases across June, with updates scheduled
for June 10, June 17, and June 26.
