GLOBO Wins Silver Stevie® Award for AI Innovations Expanding Language Access in U.S. Healthcare

Philadelphia, July 29, 2025 – GLOBO Language Solutions, a leading provider of interpreting and translation services, has been named a 2025 Silver Stevie® Award winner in the Technology Breakthrough of the Year − Artificial Intelligence category. The recognition, part of the Stevie Awards for Technology Excellence, highlights GLOBO’s two-year R&D efforts to help healthcare organizations improve communication with limited-English-proficient (LEP) patients and expand equitable access to care.

GLOBO was honored for its work on GLOBO KAI™, an AI-powered healthcare interpreter platform, and GLOBO Live Quality, an AI monitoring tool for live interpreter sessions. Together, the solutions represent a major step forward in addressing language barriers across U.S. health systems.

Addressing a Growing Equity Challenge

More than 25 million people in the U.S. have limited English proficiency. Communication breakdowns between patients and providers due to language gaps have long been associated with increased readmissions, misdiagnoses, and disparities in care outcomes. While certified human interpreters remain essential for clinical care, coverage in non-clinical settings—such as check-in, scheduling, and discharge—is often inconsistent or unavailable.

GLOBO KAI™, introduced earlier this year, is designed specifically to address this gap. It provides AI-powered interpretation in administrative and non-clinical contexts where human interpreters are not always accessible. The company says the tool is now available in over 3,000 U.S. healthcare facilities.

Pilot tests conducted at two health systems found that KAI improved interpreter coverage, reduced delays, and minimized misunderstandings in routine patient-provider interactions. Judges for the Stevie Awards praised the solution’s potential to improve both access and outcomes.

“GLOBO KAI addresses a critical healthcare equity issue by using AI to expand language support where certified human interpreters are often unavailable,” one judge wrote. “The pilot studies and user satisfaction metrics validate its effectiveness.”

Enhancing Oversight with AI

In tandem with GLOBO KAI, the company also rolled out GLOBO Live Quality, an AI-enabled tool that monitors and evaluates 100% of live video and audio interpreter sessions. The system scores interactions to support quality assurance and professional standards—a particularly relevant feature given the absence of nationwide benchmarks for interpreter performance in healthcare.

“Live Quality helps ensure that every patient interaction—whether in a hospital room or via telehealth—is being assessed for accuracy, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity,” said Dipak Patel, CEO of GLOBO. “We believe this level of oversight is essential to building trust and consistency in care.”

Scaling Innovation with Mission-Driven Design

GLOBO’s recent innovations are part of its broader mission to build inclusive healthcare systems through equitable language access. With a global network of more than 8,000 linguists covering over 430 languages, the company supports healthcare providers, courts, education systems, and government agencies with 24/7 interpreting services across audio, video, on-site, and sign language formats.

The recognition from the Stevie Awards adds to a growing list of accolades for the company, including being ranked No. 10 in the U.S. on Slator’s 2025 Language Service Provider Index and being named one of Modern Healthcare’s 2025 Best Places to Work in Healthcare.

“This recognition marks a watershed moment for GLOBO in advancing AI to expand accurate, culturally sensitive interpretation coverage across more touchpoints in the healthcare journey,” said Patel. “When patients feel understood, they’re more likely to follow care instructions—and that leads to better outcomes.”

The 2025 Stevie Awards for Technology Excellence received over 1,500 nominations from 36 countries. GLOBO will be honored alongside other winners at a gala event in New York City on September 16.
