Konica Minolta Delivers Remote Healthcare Services with Improved, Connected Quality Care

HIPAA- and HITECH-compliant virtual platform allows healthcare providers to expand their patient reach and extend their brand

Konica Minolta Business Solutions USA, Inc. (Konica Minolta), continues to connect the community of healthcare between physicians, patients and care teams with a new cloud-based Virtual Care Management (VCM) solution powered by SnapMD®. The telehealth platform is the latest solution that the company has rolled out as part of its Workplace of the Future™ portfolio, offering real-time, convenient, high-quality, patient-centered care at an affordable cost.

Using real-time diagnosis, the VCM telemedicine platform allows providers to extend their reach of care by leveraging secure live video, audio and text message consultations between physicians, patients and extended care teams. The business model allows healthcare providers to leverage their own physicians to offer a high quality of care and to allow for higher acuity encounters. It also allows for the Software as a Service (SaaS) solution to maintain the health provider’s brand to facilitate and promote trust with patients.

The solution is a robust, cloud-based HIPAA- and HITECH-compliant communications platform where healthcare providers can conduct scheduled virtual consultations for patients receiving ongoing treatment. Providers can also conduct on-demand consultations to help reduce avoidable visits in urgent-care or emergency room settings, provide remote medical services such as in-school virtual clinics, and enable collaboration physician-to- physician.

“In this age of Bring Your Own Device, we looked at SnapMD as an ideal, technology- agnostic partner that delivers a powerful tool to healthcare providers which will extend their ability to reach patients,” said Dino Pagliarello, vice president, Product Management and Planning, Konica Minolta. “The patient-centered VCM platform has a powerful integration architecture designed to scale for a growing business as well as compliant clinical requirements resulting in an efficient outcomes-based reimbursement.”

“Virtual visits represent the next true point of care in the evolution of healthcare. Konica Minolta conducted an exhaustive review of available technologies and we are proud that SnapMD was selected as their partner to add our advanced telemedicine platform to their portfolio of Workplace of the Future™ solutions,” said Dave Skibinski, CEO of SnapMD. “We look forward to working with them to deliver our powerful point-of-care platform to healthcare providers so that they can operate more competitively and effectively, improving access and convenience while extending and elevating patient care.”
