Offers integrated enterprise PACS solution to enhance diagnostic workflow and efficiency
ScImage announced today it has entered into an agreement with NextGen Healthcare to integrate its PICOM365 Enterprise PACS into the NextGen® Ambulatory EHR, allowing for seamless workflow during a clinical encounter. The combined solution opens a new chapter in healthcare information access by coupling enterprise PACS along with native EHR information.
The expanded integration supports an image-enabled EHR, allowing physicians to complete the entire clinical viewing and reporting workflow without ever leaving the EHR. NextGen Healthcare offers a broad, multi-specialty portfolio of specialty specific clinical content across more than 25 specialties which encompasses traditional cardiology and radiology PACS, and expands to additional sub-specialties such as obstetrics, orthopedics, mammography and dental. ScImage’s flexible PICOM365 architecture can accommodate all imaging specialties, providing image review, reporting and delivery, all within a common framework. In addition, it can incorporate medical images and final reports from both DICOM and non-DICOM format, thereby creating a single centralized point for access to all procedures performed on a patient.
“Throughout the healthcare industry, there is a real focus on clinical integration; the ability to link disparate data and data sources into a common view for the interpreting physician,” explains ScImage’s founder, Sai Raya, PhD. “Integrating imaging directly into the EHR is an essential tool from a clinical perspective and will become the norm in the industry going forward.”
“We have spent significant time in assessing this market and believe that an enterprise imaging solution as comprehensive as ScImage’s embedded in our EHR really has the ability to enhance physician efficiency and help overcome interoperability barriers to making important information available,” said Michael Lovett, Executive Vice President and General Manager at NextGen Healthcare.
