RxBenefits Partners with Tria Health Introduce Innovative Program for Optimized Diabetes Care

RxBenefits’ New “Optimize MyCare Diabetes Support Program” powered by Tria Health provides a personalized approach using pharmacists to reduce total health care costs related to diabetes

RxBenefits, a technology-enabled pharmacy benefits optimizer (PBO), announced a new partnership with Tria Health, an independent, chronic condition and medication management company. As a result of the collaboration, the companies have launched the Optimize MyCare Diabetes Support Program, designed to improve diabetes care and combat rising healthcare costs related to the condition.

According to data from the CDC, diabetes is one of the most prevalent – and expensive – chronic conditions in healthcare, with studies suggesting 1 in 3 Americans will develop diabetes sometime in their lifetime. As the seventh-leading cause of death in the US, diabetes can also lead to various other health complications such as blindness, kidney disease, amputations, and heart disease. Furthermore, 25% of US health care expenditures are related to caring for people with diabetes – totaling $327 billion per year.

“Our team at RxBenefits is committed to improving patient lives while reducing cost, and our latest partnership with Tria Health is yet another step in our journey toward addressing concerns surrounding diabetes,” said Wendy Barnes, CEO, RxBenefits. “Tria Health’s model starts with a one-on-one pharmacist consultation to fully understand why members are not meeting their care goals, and continues working with members to optimize their care. With our shared values and commitment to helping clients better manage high-cost conditions that are driving up their plan costs, this model will further increase member health literacy and accountability.”

The Optimize MyCare Diabetes Support Program combines RxBenefits’ high-touch service model with Tria Health’s human-first approach. Recognizing that each member’s health care journey is different, the model ensures that individualized care plans are developed and designed to purposefully improve health outcomes, while simultaneously seeking to reduce total health care costs for self-funded employers.

“We are excited to partner with RxBenefits given the company’s focus on delivering results-oriented pharmacy solutions with a high-touch service model, which is consistent with Tria Health’s approach. This partnership will further expand our reach in the mid-market employer segment. We believe the product we have developed for RxBenefits will produce results that other diabetes management programs in the market will not be able to match,” said Jessica Lea, CEO of Tria Health.
