dotHealth LLC, the official registry for the .health domain extension, announced that .health has entered the first phase of its public launch – the “Sunrise” phase. During Sunrise, qualified trademark holders can claim the .health domain that corresponds to their trademark before registration is opened to the health industry. A trademark holder qualifies for the phase if they are included in the Trademark Clearinghouse set up by ICANN. The Sunrise phase starts today and ends on July 7, 2017.

After Sunrise, the next phase of the .health domain launch is the Industry Access phase – which starts on July 20, 2017. During the Industry Access phase, qualified health industry brands, organizations, and individuals will be able to register .health domains before the general public. Registrants will be qualified as being a part of the health industry via a two-factor registration process. Health-related organizations interested in ensuring their members receive early access to .health domains are encouraged to contact dotHealth to become an official .health Industry Access partner.
