Hodous will Oversee the Company’s Growth and Expansion in the Patient Engagement Technology Market

ZOTT, the leading cloud-based patient engagement technology solution, today announced the appointment of Brian Hodous as president, effective immediately. Hodous will be responsible for scaling the company’s proprietary technology suite and overseeing ongoing development of the content delivery platform to improve patient experience and outcomes. He will directly report to Jim Carol, co-founder and CEO.

“We know first-hand how difficult and isolating the hospital experience can be. Our aim is to provide exciting, educational, and personalized content that connects people during their stay – so they can spend more time focused on healing,” said Jim Carol, ZOTT and GameChanger Charity co-founder. “Our team needed another passionate leader. Brian’s entertainment technology experience, strong leadership record, and dedication to social impact made him the ideal fit.”

Jim Carol founded GameChanger Charity in 2007 during his son’s battle with a rare, often terminal, form of leukemia. ZOTT is a for-profit subsidiary-owned in majority by the charitable organization. This unique model ensures the company’s direction and decisions remain mission-centric and generate revenue for the Charity’s distinct patient-focused programs such as scholarships and special “Gamers Give Back Tour” visits.

Hodous joined ZOTT following his most recent role as president of EAT Club. His past experiences include serving as the Chief Commercial Officer of Activision Blizzard Publishing, the world’s largest, most profitable interactive entertainment software publisher, Group Director and Executive Vice President of Global Sales at Cadbury Schweppes, and Vice President of Global Sales at Pfizer, Confection Division.

“A large part of my career has been developing and commercializing entertainment technology for some of the largest companies and brands on earth,” said Hodous. “To be able to combine this experience with meaningful patient and caregiver engagement is an exciting next chapter. ZOTT is the perfect combination of break-out, proprietary technology combined with entertainment with a higher purpose: helping patients through the toughest battles of their lives.”
