Penguin Ai Launches HCC Coding and Risk Adjustment Solution on Snowflake Marketplace

Snowflake Native App Integrates HCC Coding Functions Into Governed Data Environments

Penguin Ai launched a Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) Coding and Risk Adjustment solution as a Snowflake Native App on the Snowflake Marketplace. The solution is designed for Medicare Advantage and other risk-bearing organizations and operates within Snowflake environments without requiring patient data to be moved.

The application uses context-aware artificial intelligence to identify, validate, and clarify diagnosis codes aligned with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Hierarchical Condition Category (CMS-HCC) models. By running directly inside Snowflake accounts, the solution allows users to perform coding workflows within governed data settings.

HCC coding is used to estimate patient healthcare costs based on documented diagnoses and is tied to reimbursement and risk adjustment factor calculations for payers and providers. Penguin Ai stated that its solution automates diagnosis review and documentation analysis to support coding submissions and audit processes.

According to the company, the Snowflake Native App enables organizations to conduct prospective and retrospective HCC reviews, generate model-based code suggestions, and perform coding checks within their existing Snowflake infrastructure. The app is available through the Snowflake Marketplace and can be installed without additional data integration steps.

Penguin Ai and Snowflake reported that the launch reflects interest from healthcare organizations in deploying artificial intelligence applications directly within data cloud platforms for risk adjustment and compliance-related use cases.
