2015 mHealth Summit and Global mHealth Forum Call for Presentations Now Open

Early November event themed around Anytime, Anywhere: Engaging Providers and Patients

The mHealth Summit today announced that the Call for Presentations has opened for its 7th annual event and will be accepting abstracts through June 8, 2015.

HIMSS, host of the event, along with its Personal Connected Health Alliance and Continua divisions, has announced earlier dates for the event — November 8-11, 2015 — which will take place at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in the Washington, DC, area. The Summit will again include the Global mHealth Forum, focusing on improving care access, quality and outcomes in low and middle income countries through mobile and connected health.

“The mHealth Summit provides a global platform to showcase existing and emerging mobile, telehealth and connected health technologies that are improving care coordination, population health management and clinical outcomes and efficiencies. We look forward to receiving high quality abstracts and forward thinking proposals for presentations focused on key industry trends,” added Richard Scarfo, Vice President, Personal Connected Health Alliance at HIMSS, and Director of the mHealth Summit. “Our program will feature provider opportunities driven by personal health technologies and connectivity with EHRs, integration of wearable devices and sensors, new care models, Big Data and the regulatory, policy and investment strategies fueling innovation and deal-making.”

This year’s theme, Anytime, Anywhere: Engaging Providers and Patients, reflects a shifting focus from traditional patient care to a more dynamic, interactive and patient-driven experience. Keynote presentations, panel sessions, special events and a vibrant exhibition floor will explore existing and emerging technologies changing care delivery, including mobile devices and apps, telehealth services and personal connected health.

The 2015 mobile technology survey released last month at 2015 HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition revealed healthcare organizations are beginning to widely deploy mobile technologies with the aim of better engaging patients in their health and wellness. The survey also revealed the need to fully optimize and leverage the capabilities that mobile technologies and platforms offer in healthcare delivery.

“Recognizing the importance of integrating personal health technologies into the full spectrum of care delivery, HIMSS is expanding our focus to include mobile and connected health that empower and engage providers and patients,” said H. Stephen Lieber, CAE, President and CEO, HIMSS. “Combined with the HIMSS Annual Conference, this year’s Summit will provide the perfect complement of real-world research, innovations and opportunities in mobile and connected health, topics our audience is eager to explore and collaborations they seek to pursue.”
