ViiMed’s cloud-based digital healthcare platform integrates with leading electronic health record (EHR) providers for rapid deployment, scalability, and improved workflows

ViiMed®, a leading telehealth software provider, today announced a partnership with Redox to integrate its platform with all major EHR providers like Epic, Cerner, McKesson, Allscripts, athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, NextGen Healthcare, GE Healthcare, Meditech, Greenway Health, drchrono, and CPSI. The partnership will help healthcare organizations share, access, and connect the right data to make more informed decisions and provide higher-quality care. The cloud-based integration also helps healthcare organizations quickly deploy and scale ViiMed’s technology, while maximizing their existing infrastructure investments.

Interoperability is top of mind for many healthcare leaders today. While Meaningful Use standards and the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) have driven some progress, the industry still faces challenges. For instance, only 41 percent of hospitals can send and receive secure messages to and from external sources, according to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC). When providers cannot access patient records from other health systems, or even from other hospitals within the same system, results can be incorrect misdiagnoses, unnecessary treatments, and wasted time and resources.

“We’re committed to closing interoperability gaps in the healthcare industry,” said Niko Skievaski, co-founder and president of Redox. “ViiMed offers a robust digital healthcare platform, and we’re excited to help its customers take full advantage of its capabilities. Using our cloud-based infrastructure, hospitals, health systems and physician practices can access and update EHR records for a more comprehensive view of their patients.”

Cloud computing is driving significant progress and innovation for healthcare organizations. According to a recent study by SADA Systems, 89 percent of healthcare IT professionals said their organizations are using cloud-based apps, resulting in happier patients, better treatment, and more efficient hospital administration. This partnership combines two cloud-based technologies to deliver a solution that is agile, scalable, and interoperable.

Integrating EHRs with healthcare software can be a time-consuming, cumbersome process. Through Redox’s application programming interface (API), healthcare organizations can more quickly and easily integrate their existing systems with ViiMedto get up-and-running faster, so providers can get back to what matters most: caring for patients.

“Redox has proven itself as the leader in EHR integrations,” said Phil Newman, founder and CEO of ViiMed. “Whereas other organizations struggle to connect with large-scale EHRs, Redox brings a wealth of experience and knowledge around the process and works within these complex environments every day. As we expand to serve more customers large and small, this partnership will enable us to quickly meet customers’ needs. We want to make it as easy as possible for care coordinators, nurses, and clinicians to find the data they need in an accurate, complete patient profile, and interoperable systems are a critical component of that.”
