The Future of Personalized Medicine

Personalized medicine, also known as genomic or precision medicine, is used to accurately detect, diagnose and treat illnesses in an individual. This practice uses the genetic makeup of a person, their medical history and the average person’s risk of a disease to diagnose an illness. Personalized medicine takes into account every aspect of an individual in order to make the most accurate diagnoses and use a treatment that will work the best for that person. Adventist University’s Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program has created the infographic below that delves further into the practice of personalized medicine.
