Humetrix Mobile Platforms To Help Transform Clinical Trials, Drug Development and Post Marketing Surveillance

Company to showcase mobile health solutions at the 2016 BIO International Convention and Digital Health Summit

At the 2016 BIO International Convention, Humetrix will showcase its suite of mHealth platforms, with a focus on using direct patient engagement to improve the drug development and clinical trial process, and promote safe, value based care. The company will demonstrate its mobile health solutions, including: iBlueButton, which creates actionable longitudinal health records, enabling new paradigms for clinical trials and value-based payment models; SOS QR for emergency care communications; and the TENSIO mobile platform for hypertension patient coaching, and other chronic conditions   Humetrix will exhibit at the Digital Health Summer Summit at BIO, booth 7537 West Moscone Center.  BIO takes place June 6 – 9 in San Francisco.

Humetrix’s CEO, Dr. Bettina Experton, will present during the Digital Health Summer Summit at BIO on the panel entitled, “On-Demand Care Goes Rogue,” Wednesday, June 8 at 1:45 p.m.

“Mobile health platforms are already revolutionizing the patient’s role in directing their own care,” said Dr. Bettina Experton, CEO of Humetrix. “Now, we are starting to see the pharmaceutical industry capitalizing on this paradigm change to bring safer, more personalized and cost effective treatments. The patient is now truly transforming healthcare in all of its dimensions!”

iBlueButton is available for iOS and Android devices, and allows millions of Americans and their caregivers to receive, update, store and share their health records securely on their mobile devices.  By providing patients with their own health records, iBlueButton reduces the risk of medical errors and costly redundant tests resulting from an incomplete picture of the patient medical history.  For drug and medical device manufacturers, iBlueButton can transform clinical trials and post-marketing surveillance with patient-driven real world data.

Humetrix will also demo mHealth apps SOS QRandTENSIO, which have been selected by National Health Service (NHS) for a large regional deployment as part of the NHS Innovation Test Beds program.  The program is designed to test technology innovations on a large regional scale with the goal of modernizing how the NHS delivers care. Seven Test Bed sites were selected from 33 NHS regional applicants, including the Sheffield City Region where Humetrix is taking part.

TENSIO is designed for anyone who wants to manage his or her high blood pressure. By integrating data from self-monitoring devices with the patient’s own medical record data and an onboard expert system for personal coaching, TENSIO uses a patient’s smartphone and Apple Watch to send alerts and notifications so they better manage their prescribed medication, dietary and exercise regimen.  The app also allows them to review their progress toward their blood pressure control goals with their doctors.

SOS QR is an award-winning smartphone application for emergency preparedness, designed to keep individuals safe wherever they are. A globalized mobile application, SOS QR runs on both Android and iOS phones and the Apple Watch. It is available in multiple languages: English, French, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, and Portuguese. In addition to making key medical information – conditions, allergies and medications – available to any medical professional in the local language, the application also features an “SOS Button” that users can easily press to call for help in an emergency situation.
