Technology migration expands interoperability and enhances patient care across 60 hospital systems throughout North America, Europe, and the Middle East
InterSystems, a creative data technology provider dedicated to helping customers solve the most critical scalability, interoperability, and speed problems, today announced that its long-term customer Harris Healthcare, has updated its comprehensive, fully integrated, patient-centric electronic record system HARRIS Flex to leverage InterSystems IRIS for Health™. The upgrade and platform migration will enhance the overall performance, functionality, and scalability of the HARRIS Flex solution, enabling clinicians to better serve their patients and improve data sharing and communication across the care continuum.
As an InterSystems partner since the 1980s, Harris Healthcare has relied upon the data management capabilities of InterSystems data platforms for HARRIS Flex and other products. The foundational technology helps ensure the safe storage of clinical data for more than 60 hospital systems around the world. HARRIS Flex provides robust clinical decision support to care providers and allied health professionals through its easy-to-use electronic record system platform that is accessible from anywhere, at any time, and on the mobile tablet, laptop or desktop of their choice. The migration to InterSystems IRIS for Health opens HARRIS Flex to explore new functionality, such as built-in capabilities for data layout, open analytics, and an expandable FHIR repository.
InterSystems IRIS for Health is the world’s first and only data platform specifically engineered to extract value from healthcare data. It empowers users to rapidly create and scale the healthcare industry’s next breakthrough applications.
“Throughout our shared history, InterSystems has delivered the functionality, flexibility, and scalable database technology that makes the HARRIS Flex platform possible,” said Seth Salmon, vice president of research and development at Harris Healthcare. “Technology and support from InterSystems were especially crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic, when our customers needed to quickly configure new workflows to support patient care, including entirely new triage and ICU units. Transitioning to InterSystems IRIS for Health enables us to provide even greater flexibility and support for our customers during this unprecedented time.”
“At InterSystems, we are committed to providing our global customers with the technology necessary to facilitate the seamless exchange of clinical data,” said Don Woodlock, vice president of Healthcare Solutions at InterSystems. “Data and system interoperability have been an essential factor in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic as care teams need complete and accurate clinical data to make informed decisions. We are proud to support HARRIS Flex and the role we will continue to play in putting data at the center of the company’s mission to support clinicians and their patients.”
“As a HARRIS Flex customer, we rely on the EHR to provide our clinical staff with accurate and complete healthcare data, supporting the care of children with medical complexity” said Darin K. Brannan, MD, at The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital, in Bethany, Oklahoma, USA. “As the backbone of the HARRIS Flex technology, InterSystems HealthShare has enabled our clinicians to seamlessly navigate the EHR and access data in real-time. The migration to InterSystems IRIS for Health will give our clinicians even greater accessibility and will have a positive impact on our ability to better serve patients in more innovative ways.”
