Finalists Announced for Inaugural HIMSS Changemaker in Health Awards

Deadline for Unique Public Voting is March 22 at 9:00am CT

HIMSS launched an exciting new recognition for senior healthcare executives this spring, and you have the opportunity to make your voice heard through a novel public voting option.

The HIMSS Changemaker in Health Awards seek to honor inspirational HealthIT professionals from across the entire health ecosystem — including product vendors, health systems, educators and more — who are challenging traditional solutions along their path toward building brighter health futures.

A wide array of finalists are represented in the HIMSS Changemaker in Health Awards voting portal.  The impressive list includes global life savers, innovative start-up founders, international and US health informatics educators, heads of multinational IT vendors, as well as health IT leaders from non-profit and commercial providers. Particularly noteworthy is the relatively high number of professionals representing rural and urban underserved health systems.

According to HIMSS, nominees share one common trait: These leaders relentlessly pursue ways to improve care by harnessing the power of information and technology.

Additionally, nominees should…

  • Have an ongoing commitment to harnessing the power of information and technology to positively transform health and healthcare
  • Exhibit active leadership that demonstrates innovation and propelling innovation to harness emerging, disruptive and cutting-edge technology to address healthcare pain points
  • Be Driving of transformational change, leading to improved health outcomes for patients through the advancement of the best use of information and technology within communities (i.e., to improve patient safety, coordinated care, population health, wellness, access and cost-effectiveness)

To create the HIMSS Changemaker in Health Awards a truly representative voice of health information and technology industry, recipients will, in part, be selected by the public. To vote, you don’t even need to be a member of HIMSS. To review the finalists and cast your VOTE, visit https://www.himss.org/what-we-do/awards/changemaker.
